Work Smarts provides access to subsidized, career related positions for recent graduates who want to work in Atlantic Canada.

What is Work Smarts?

Work Smarts is an employment wage subsidy funded by Service Canada and facilitated by The Sobey School Business Development Centre (SSBDC). We are pleased to provide federal wage subsidies to 45 employers in Nova Scotia.

Through this program, we provide wage subsidies to employers to assist their hiring of a recent graduate. Last year, we placed 40 recent graduates in career related positions with small and medium-sized enterprises. Through our partnership with Service Canada, we have been able to offer each employer in the program up to $7,750 in funding to help grow their business while providing valuable experience to new graduates.

New in 2017 - Work Smarts - Aborigional

The aboriginal/indigenous community remains a priority of the federal government, and since the federal government is such a large supporter of the Sobey School Business Development Centre, we want to support that priority by focusing on indigenous youth.
